The Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition is seeking a Policy Research Officer to be part of a Secretariat team supporting the Global Panel; a small group of influential independent experts who have a commitment to tackling global challenges in food and nutrition security. The Panel is co-chaired by Prof Sir John Beddington, former UK Chief Scientific Adviser, and H.E. John Kufuor, former President of Ghana. It is hosted by the London International Development Centre (LIDC).

Reporting to the Foresight Project Manager, the Policy Research Officer will be responsible for collating, analysing and helping to synthesise research on the links between agriculture, nutrition and health, liaising with academics and publishers, and supporting the co-ordination of timelines and logistics to ensure delivery of policy briefs and papers on these topics. He or she will have a postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in nutrition or food systems; experience in desk-research, including literature searches and research synthesis of findings relevant to agriculture, nutrition and food systems; experience of writing content, fact-checking and proofreading materials and briefs for accuracy and consistency for scientific and non-scientific audiences; excellent written and oral communication skills, including good attention to detail; ability to present research data in a clear and logical format. Starting salary will be for a grade 5 position, £33,567 inclusive per annum. Access to a pension scheme and interest free season ticket loan, sports and social facilities are available.
