How To Apply
If you are interested in a post, click the Apply Online button within the job advert and you’ll be asked to register and set up an account on the site (Why do I have to register?) or log into the account you’ve already created. Be sure to provide an email address you use regularly, because that’s how we’ll keep in touch with you about your application.
All applications must be submitted online by 10pm UK time on the closing date.
Application Form
The online application form can be completed in stages and you can login/logout at any time. The form automatically saves as you enter your information and it is simple to move backwards and forwards within the form at any time prior to submission. Help is available at each stage to guide you through the form.
Before final submission, you can preview your application and can then choose to refine or submit the form.
Applications should include the names and email contacts of 2 referees who can be contacted immediately if appointed. Online applications will be accepted by the automated system until 10pm of the closing date. We regret that late applications cannot be accepted. Any queries regarding the application process may be addressed to jobs@lshtm.ac.uk.
The supporting statement section should set out how your qualifications, experience and training meet each of the selection criteria. Please provide one or more paragraphs addressing each criterion using specific and concrete examples and information. The supporting statement is an essential part of the selection process and thus a failure to provide this information will mean that the application will not be considered. An answer to any of the criteria such as "Please see attached CV”, “Yes” or “No" will not be considered acceptable and will not be scored.
Anonymised Shortlisting
Anonymised shortlisting applies to all Professional Services roles. This means that your personal information provided in your application form will not be seen by the shortlisting panel (this includes your name and address details). Therefore, you will not be able to upload a CV or covering letter for these roles.
Disability Confident
LSHTM is a Disability Confident Employer and will ensure that applicants that declare a disability, fully meet the essential criteria and opt in to the Disability Confident scheme are offered an interview. To opt in for the guaranteed interview under the Disability Confident scheme please follow these instructions:
On Section 7 of the application form, tick ‘yes’ to the question, ‘Do you have a Disability as defined by the Equality Act’. Further questions will then populate. Please tick ‘yes’ to the question, ‘would you like to exercise your right to an interview under the Disability Confident policy’.
After Applying
Once you have submitted your application, you will see in the 'My Applications' area, that the status of your application will be "submitted" and it will also show the date of submission.
The following day, you will receive an acknowledgment email.
After Closing Date
The selection panel will assess all applicants against the requirements of the job description and person specification and then notify HR of their decision.
HR will then contact the applicants as appropriate. Please note that due to the volume of applications received we are unable to provide individual feedback on applications that are not shortlisted for interview.
Please note that if you are shortlisted and are unable to attend on the interview date it may not be possible to offer you an alternative date.
