Research Assistant

Department of Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology

Salary:  £34,854 to £40,011 per annum, inclusive.

We are seeking to appoint a statistician experienced in the analysis of longitudinal data, clinical trials and big data to provide broad statistical support to several projects including a community based cohort study of chronic diseases in India and behavioural intervention trials of chronic disease management in several low- and middle-income countries.

The post-holder will act as the main statistical advisor for each of the projects, conduct advanced quantitative analyses of cohort and trial data (including the application of machine learning techniques to big data from metabolomics and mobile phones), contribute to data and project management, and assist with writing of papers and development of further research grants.

The post-holder should have an MSc degree in Biostatistics, either awarded or imminent. Experience in analyses of longitudinal cohort data as well as management and analyses of big data are essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full time and fixed-term until 31 August 2022.

The salary will be on the Academic pathways Grade 5 in the range £34,854 - £40,011 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
