Research Fellow

Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology

Salary:  £40,011 to £45,437 per annum, inclusive.

The post holder’s work will be based in LSHTM – Keppel Street

The post holder will be responsible for providing research, communications leadership and administrative support to Dr. Heidi Larson.

The principle responsibility of the post holder will be quantitative data management and analysis for our global study on healthcare professionals’ (HCPs) views and attitudes towards vaccination.

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant field, such as statistics, mathematics, or physics 
  • Manage and clean quantitative data collected, ensuring completeness, accuracy and secure storage
  • Analyse quantitative data using appropriate statistical techniques
  • Prepare results for presentation at relevant meetings, contribute to writing up reports and academic publications
  • Liaise with the study team, the Vaccine Confidence Project team and the team at WIN/GIA
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested
  • Experience of working in a higher education, health or science environment.
  • Some understanding of vaccine hesitancy.
  • Ability to work both independently, taking initiative to progress on pieces of work, and as a member of a multidisciplinary scientific team.

The post is funded until 6 November 2021. The salary will be on the Academic scale, Grade 6 scale in the range £40,011 - £45,437 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
