The Department of Population Health (DPH) aims to bring important benefits to global population health and health equity by generating, evaluating and disseminating effective interventions, treatments and policies. It is a centre of excellence in the determinants and consequences of population change. We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work as part of a research team on an NIHR-funded project. The post holder will recruit and collect data using community-based approaches including social media and via routine healthcare, throughout the UK. This post will focus on recruitment in the London area.

A successful candidate is expected to hold a postgraduate degree in science, social science, epidemiology or other field related to public health. Prior experience of working in or with community-based organisations is essential; and experience in recruiting, retaining and engaging with participants for research including taking informed consent would be an advantage. The post is part-time for 17.5 hours per week, 0.5 FTE and fixed-term until 30 April 2025. The post is available immediately.

The salary will be on the Academic scale, Grade 5 scale in the range £35,377 - £40,611 pro rata per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
