The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities.
The School’s Registry has responsibility for supporting teaching and research training programmes by maintaining and advising on strategy, policies, procedures and regulations; processing applications and applicant visas, admitting and registering students; managing scholarships and tuition fees, supporting students during their study, administering assessments and processing awards.
This is a busy and varied role supporting the day-to-day recruitment cycle of Scholarships as well as the monitoring and maintenance of funding records for Masters, Research and Distance Learning scholarships students at LSHTM.
Working as part of the Scholarships team, you'll provide operational and administrative support, including communicating with academics and students across the school, providing funding guidance, as well as liaising with the Philanthropy/Finance team and external stakeholders.
Working closely with the Department Managers, Principal Investigators, Project Coordinators and Research Finance colleagues to support the delivery of scholarship supported activities. This will include coordinating recruitment, supporting budget preparation and monitoring, and acting as a first point of contact for operational queries.
The post-holder will have experience of working in an administration environment with a strong customer service focus. Excellent financial, IT and organisational skills are essential as is the ability to communicate effectively and work independently, flexibly and as part of a team. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and permanent.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 4 in the range £34,741 - £38,986 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
