The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are recruiting a Research Fellow in Health Economics within the Department of Health Services Research and Policy. The post will be part of the IMPLEMENT-CVD project, a UKRI Future Leader Fellowship aimed at improving implementation of evidence-based approaches to non-communicable diseases in low-resource settings. The postholder will be responsible for conducting economic evaluations (cost-effectiveness analysis, budget impact analysis, and value of implementation analysis). This will include reviewing data from a feasibility study, identifying supplementary data needs, and developing tools for costing in a full trial. The postholder will also contribute to stakeholder mapping and engagement to identify opportunities for intervention sustainability and to ensure policy relevance of the economic evaluation.

The post-holder must have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic and should have formal training and demonstrated experience in designing and conducting economic evaluations. They should have strong quantitative and analytical skills relevant to economic evaluation including expertise in the use of appropriate analytical software.

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 30 June 2028. The post is funded by the UKRI/MRC and is available from 01 July 2026. 

The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
