We're looking for an AV Apprentice to join our Audio-Visual and Classroom Support Team.
We look after hybrid-enabled teaching spaces across the School's Keppel Street campus, with our new campus at Tavistock Place due to open later this year. We are responsible for a mixture of proactive upgrades, routine-maintenance, user support and guidance on the AV systems.
You’ll be following the Audiovisual-Technician Apprenticeship (a level 5 qualification that you’ll gain, in partnership with Middlesborough College who deliver the formal learning element via remote learning). You'll also be learning on the job, putting the theory into practice and widening your knowledge of the AV industry. As we’re part of the wider IT service team, you’ll have opportunities to work amongst different internal teams to broaden your skillset and learn new areas.
We’d like to hear from people who have interest in audiovisual technology who wish to learn and become a technician in this field. This is a great first step into the AV field and we know that people have different experiences or interests that have shaped their desire to enter the AV industry, so we’d encourage people to apply and draw from any relevant experience in education or employment in their application.
You should be educated to GCSE level and hold general IT and PC skills. You will be required to work on-site 4 days a week with 1 day per week on study and in peak periods this may increase to 5 days a week on-site.
The post is full-time 35 hours per week and fixed-term until 31 August 2027.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 1, £25,327 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
Applications should be made on-line via our jobs website. Online applications will be accepted by the automated system until 10pm of the closing date. Any queries regarding the application process may be addressed to jobs@lshtm.ac.uk.
The supporting statement section should set out how your qualifications, experience and training meet each of the selection criteria. Please provide one or more paragraphs addressing each criterion. The supporting statement is an essential part of the selection process and thus a failure to provide this information will mean that the application will not be considered. An answer to any of the criteria such as "Please see attached CV" will not be considered acceptable.
Please note that if you are shortlisted and are unable to attend on the interview date it may not be possible to offer you an alternative date.
