Administrative Assistant & PA to the Director

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. The post is based in the Department of Population Health, where the Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition is housed. The Global Panel Administrative Assistant and PA to the Director will provide high-level personal assistance to Global Panel Director Professor Sandy Thomas, supporting her in all her work, including correspondence, reports, papers and grant applications; monitoring email correspondence at a high level particularly during Professor Thomas’ absence, maintaining suitable filing systems and maintaining a busy appointment diary; although the work will also involve flexibility, versatility and contribution to other activities undertaken by the Secretariat team.

The post-holder will have a degree and/or substantial equivalent experience as a PA, Executive Secretary or Administrator. Proven and substantial administrative experience within a UK academic environment; preferably working in a team and communicating with a wide range of people in a multicultural environment is desirable. The post is part-time 0.6 FTE, 21 hours per week and fixed-term until 31 March 2025 when the project ends. The post is funded by the Irish Aid and is available immediately.

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 3 in the range £29,514 - £33,207 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
