This is an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to join the LSHTM team of the HIGH Horizons Consortium to work on a large multi-country collaborative project assessing the health effects of climate change on maternal and neonatal health in sub-Saharan Africa (HIGH Horizons).
The post-holder will be part of the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology & International Health within the Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health and will be line managed by Professor Debra Jackson.
The post-holder will have higher education to degree level or equivalent with substantial relevant experience of working in media and communications within a higher education, global and public health, environmental or climate science. Proven experience of effectively managing communications for an organisation or projects in relevant areas of science, health or international development and knowledge of communications platforms is also essential. The post is part-time 17.5 hours per week, 0.5 FTE and fixed-term until 31 August 2026. The post is funded by the EU-UKRI and is available from 16 September 2024.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £38,282 - £43,947 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
