Statistician - Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate

We wish to appoint a statistician for the position of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate to take a leading role in this 3-year Innovate UK KTP between LSHTM and global biopharmaceutical company GSK.

The KTP team will work collaboratively to demonstrate and implement the use of emulated trials in the drug development process within GSK. Emulated trials use existing data sources to estimate treatment effects, and this project aims to establish their potential for improving the design of future trials and producing regulatory-grade evidence. 

The role requires an individual with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will develop approaches to using trial emulation in clinical trial design; develop and deliver training; advocate for trial emulation. 

You will be based at GSK’s Statistics and Data Science Innovation Hub in London (Drs Aris Perperoglou, Adrian Mander), and will work closely with Profs Jonathan Bartlett, Ruth Keogh from LSHTM’s Medical Statistics Department. 

The post-holder must have a PhD in biostatistics, medical statistics, data science or a closely related area and have experience of the development or assessment of statistical methodology. Strong programming skills using R are essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE, fixed-term for 3 years and available immediately. 

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 7 in the range £51,299-£58,723 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at GSK.
