We’re looking for 2 creative and passionate communications experts, one initially would manage communications for a research project on clinical trials and tranexamic acid, and other will manage communications for a diverse range of research projects and Centres at the LSHTM, based in the Communications & Engagement department.

Day-to-day work will be directed by relevant academic principal investigators and Centre Directors. Both roles will involve managing website content; producing and managing social media and graphic content; producing e-newsletters; inputs into communications strategy development and delivery; and where relevant developing briefs or reports and working closely with our Press Office on media activity. The clinical trials specific role will include refining and implementing a communications strategy and advocacy campaigns and working closely with in-country partners on community engagement and advocacy activities.

You must have experience of effectively managing communications for an organisation or projects, and an understanding of how to engage with relevant audiences including academics government agencies, NGOs, healthcare practitioners, the international research and policy communities, postgraduate students, and the general public. For the clinical trials role, further understanding of clinical trials and maternal health, and international experience with community engagement and related organisations and advisory boards - including in West Africa - are advantageous.

The role requires higher education to degree level or equivalent with substantial relevant experience. Excellent IT and organisational skills are a must. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and fixed term for 2 years with a possibility of extension. 

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £38,282 - £43,947 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London with hybrid working (approx 8 days/month on campus).
