The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are looking for Research Fellow(s) for the two posts available in the DELTA core function of the NIHR Maternity Disparities Consortium, a £50million national programme that aims to improve maternity and neonatal outcomes across the UK and reduce inequalities before, during and after pregnancy.
The Research Fellow(s) will be involved in analysing routinely collected linked national datasets for all mothers and babies in England. The posts will provide an excellent opportunity for someone who wants a career in “big data” research.
The role requires strong skills and expertise in data science, statistics, or epidemiology. The successful candidate will have a postgraduate, ideally doctoral degree in one of these areas. Experience of working on large observational healthcare studies is helpful, but the job also suits someone with experience of analysing clinical trials.

Both posts are based at the Department of Health Services Research & Policy and are available full-time or part-time, 17.5 - 35 hours per week, 0.5 - 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 31 May 2028. The posts are funded by the NIHR, one post is available immediately and one post is available from 01 September 2026.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The posts are based in London at LSHTM.
