This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected institution and play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors.</p><p>You will be responsible for managing cleaning operations across our two main sites at Keppel Street and Tavistock Place. This role requires a proactive leader with proven knowledge and experience within the professional cleaning industry, ensuring that high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance are maintained across academic, office, and shared spaces.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee and manage daily cleaning operations across both LSHTM sites</li><li>Lead, supervise, and support cleaning staff to ensure high performance and service standards</li><li>Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations</li><li>Monitor cleaning schedules, standards, and quality assurance processes</li><li>Manage supplies, equipment, and cleaning resources efficiently</li><li>Work collaboratively with internal departments and external contractors as required</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English/Relevant work experience</li><li>IOSH Working Safety Qualification or similar Health &amp; Safety qualification</li><li>Experience of working in higher education, or similar organisation</li><li>Experience in supervising/managing cleaning operatives, ensuring manning levels as per the budget requirements</li></ul><p>Further particulars are included in the job description.</p><p>The post is full time 40 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and permanent.</p><p>The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 3 with the starting salary of &pound;16.65 per hour (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. &nbsp;Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary &ldquo;Wellbeing Days&rdquo;. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring the use of chemicals and equipment, overseeing health and safety practices, and maintaining effective communication with staff, students and management. Additionally, they will conduct audits and support in the provision of training and performance of staff, while ensuring adherence to environmental and corporate policies.</p><p>You should have Previous experience in cleaning supervision or a similar role. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and best practices is desirable. The Receptionist is responsible for the provision of excellence in customer service, telephonist and clerical skills throughout the School&rsquo;s properties to facilitate the achievement of the School&rsquo;s mission and strategic objectives.</p><p>You will be working as part of the Front of House Team, to assist with the smooth running of the LSHTM reception desks, ensure that all enquiries are dealt with promptly and courteously.</p><p>You should be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Maths (A-Level) and have proven and successful experience of administrative work. Previous experience as a receptionist is desirable. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, including a pleasant telephone manner.
