            <p id="isPasted">The London School of Hygiene &amp; Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world&rsquo;s leading public health universities. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.</p><p>This role will work across the department of Public Health, Environments and Society (PHES). The successful applicant will be expected to lead, manage and be responsible for all aspects of the administrative coordination and financial management for the departments research projects. As a key member of the Department and the first point of contact for those projects, the post-holder will provide guidance on their management and administration, from funding costings for application, project set up, management and closure (the complete life cycle), working closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and liaising with partner institutions where necessary.</p><p>Applicants must have higher education to degree level or equivalent or substantial relevant experience and substantial experience of providing proactive administrative support of academic research, including proven ability to monitor large budgets and prepare accurate costings, projections and reports; ability to use initiative and judgement to solve problems; to manage a busy workload; and work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience of managing large complex grants would be an advantage. Further particulars are included in the job description.</p><p>The post is full-time 35 hours per week at 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 08 January 2028. The post is available from 09 November 2026.&nbsp;</p><p>The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 5 scale in the range &pound;39,984 - &pound;45,728 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary &ldquo;Wellbeing Days&rdquo;. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.</p><p><strong>Research Assistant in Food &amp; Health (Quantitative)</strong></p><p>We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic researcher to join the Department of Public Health, Environments and Society to support the work of Food for Thought, a Wellcome Trust Research Fellowship, held by Dr Maddy Power, aimed at better understanding links between food insecurity, food aid use, and mental health.</p><p>The successful candidate will a relevant first degree in the field of or related to public health, social policy, sociology, social research methods. They will also have skills and experience in quantitative data analysis, and an interest in food insecurity, poverty, health, and policy. A background in public health, as applied to food and/or poverty would be useful.&nbsp;Further particulars are included in the job description.</p><p>LSHTM operates a Hybrid Working Framework which, alongside agreed service requirements, enables teams to work more flexibly where the role allows - promoting wellbeing and a better work/life balance. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.</p><p>We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to work on a new systematic review of interventions to modify screen time among children and young people. The post-holder will contribute to: co-ordinating public and policymaker involvement; designing review materials and other aspects of research methods; organising searches; screening studies for inclusion; extracting data and assessing the quality of included studies; synthesising qualitative evidence; liaising with those leading on the synthesis of quantitative evidence; drafting reports and academic papers; and knowledge exchange. The post-holder will also contribute to the development of research funding proposals, teaching, supervision of doctoral students and internal contribution roles.</p><p>The successful applicant will have a post-graduate degree in a relevant topic, relevant experience in public health or social research (ideally systematic reviews), a track record of contributions to published outputs, proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and understanding of systematic review methods and of children and young people&rsquo;s health. Further particulars are included in the job description.</p><p>The post is part-time 28 hours per week, 0.8 FTE and fixed-term until 30 April 2028. The post is funded by the NIHR Public Health Research Programme and is available from 1 January 2027.</p><p>The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range &pound;45,728 - &pound;51,872 per annum pro-rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. &nbsp;Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff.
