The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. The School is seeking to appoint a Payroll and Pensions Assistant to work within the Payroll team in the Finance Department. The post holder will report to the Head of Payroll and Pensions and will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, user-focused administration service for the School.

The Payroll and Pensions Assistant assists in the day-to-day administration of the payroll and pensions service for the School. The role holder helps ensure the Payroll & Pensions processes and procedures remain accurate, effective and efficient, handling confidential and commercially sensitive information with integrity.

The successful applicant will have experience of working in Payroll, with a strong customer service focus. Excellent organisational, IT and decision-making skills are essential as is the ability to communicate effectively and work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree or have equivalent professional experience and hold IPP Certificate in Payroll Administration. The post is full-time and permanent.

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 3 in the range £26,974 - £30,453 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
