The Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition is seeking an Executive Officer – Partnerships and Events to develop strategic partnerships and promote collaboration with other actors in the sector.

The Global Panel is an independent group of influential experts with a commitment to tackling global challenges in food and nutrition security. It is co-chaired by Prof Sir John Beddington, former UK Chief Scientific Adviser, and H.E. John Kufuor, former President of Ghana. The Panel is supported by a Secretariat based within the London International Development Centre (LIDC).

The Executive Officer- Partnerships and Events will work with and provide support to the Director and Deputy Director to ensure the effective management of the project. The post holder will serve as the liaison between the Director, Deputy Director and other members of staff, consultants, and external partners to lead on internal and external partnership efforts.

The successful candidate will have a first degree or equivalent experience, successful administration experience preferably in an academic or development context and excellent interpersonal skills. The post holder will need strong relationship management skills and ability to work as part of a team and with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders. A postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in an agriculture, nutrition or development area is desirable.

The post is full time and fixed-term until 31 March 2021. The salary is on the Professional salary scale Grade 5 in the range £33,567 to £38,533 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at 36 Gordon Square.
