            <p id="isPasted">LSHTM has around 3,500 staff based all around the world with core hubs in London, The Gambia and Uganda. We have active research in more than 100 countries, and our research is ranked first in the UK for the key measure of impact in tables published by the Times Higher Education for REF 2021.</p><p>A Press Officer is required within the Communications &amp; Engagement department to work closely with the Media Manager and another Press Officer in our busy press team.</p><p>Working on topics as diverse as maternal health, climate change, vaccines, and disease outbreak response, you will have exceptional media and communications skills with experience in a health or science environment. Reporting to the Media Manager, you will use LSHTM&rsquo;s world-leading research and expertise to generate national, global, and local media coverage through news stories, features, thought-leadership pieces and engaging social media content.</p><p>You will use your&nbsp;strong news sense and understanding of the media landscape to secure proactive coverage, and manage reactive comment and interview requests from high-profile UK and global media outlets. You will support LSHTM staff with all aspects of media engagement including researching opportunities and offering media advice.</p><p>You must be educated to a degree level or equivalent with substantial experience and/or recognised relevant qualification. Experience of working in media and communications within a health or science environment, along with excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.&nbsp;Further particulars are included in the job description.</p><p>The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and permanent.&nbsp;</p><p>The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 5 in the range &pound;39,984 - &pound;45,728 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. &nbsp;Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary &ldquo;Wellbeing Days&rdquo;. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. This is a busy and varied role, which requires strong organisational, IT and communication skills.&nbsp;</p><p>The post holder will report to the Student Finance Manager and will be responsible for administering the School&rsquo;s student finance procedures, processing requests and advising stakeholders on related policy, procedures and regulation, as well as providing general administrative support to the wider Registry team. The Receptionist is responsible for the provision of excellence in customer service, telephonist and clerical skills throughout the School&rsquo;s properties to facilitate the achievement of the School&rsquo;s mission and strategic objectives.</p><p>You will be working as part of the Front of House Team, to assist with the smooth running of the LSHTM reception desks, ensure that all enquiries are dealt with promptly and courteously.</p><p>You should be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Maths (A-Level) and have proven and successful experience of administrative work. Previous experience as a receptionist is desirable. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, including a pleasant telephone manner.
