We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join the scientific team of our long-standing collaborative research programme with the Kintampo Health Research Centre, Ministry of Health, Ghana and in particular to contribute to a large trial evaluating the impact of newborn vitamin A dosing on infant mortality. This trial will cover 7 districts and enroll 30,000 newborns over a 2 year period.
The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree in epidemiology or related subject, experience in statistical analysis or data management, a broad understanding of fieldwork and of public health, and strong problem solving skills.
The appointment will be based in Ghana, and will be available from 1 March 2010 until 30 October 2013. The appointment will be on the national academic scale with a salary in the range of £31,897 - £36,716 per annum plus displacement allowance of £3,473.
