We would like to invite applications for this interesting and challenging opportunity to contribute to the publication of systematic reviews in the field of heart diseases.
The Cochrane Heart Group is part of The Cochrane Collaboration, an international network of individuals and organisations committed to preparing, maintaining, updating and disseminating systematic reviews of health care interventions to help people make well-informed decisions about health care (see www.cochrane.org). You will be a key part of a small team, responsible for assisting review authors through the process of preparing and updating reviews for publication in The Cochrane Library.
The appointee will work closely with review authors in identifying studies for inclusion in their reviews and will take responsibility for maintaining and developing the Group’s Specialized Register of trials.
The ideal applicant will have a qualification in librarianship or information science but others with appropriate experience are also welcome to apply. Knowledge of medical terminology, the Cochrane Collaboration and/ or the Cochrane Library and experience of critical appraisal of the systematic review process would be desirable.
The post-holder will be required to work full time. The starting salary will be on the Professional Support scale Grade 5 in the range of £30,639 to £35,194 per annum and the appointment is to start as soon as possible, until 31 March 2015. The successful candidate will be placed on the scale according to proven experience.
